Socialized Health Care?

I'm sure have friends or relatives (as do I) who decry any moves by Democrats to provide additional services for Americans as "socialization". The S-CHIP debate is a great case in point.  The conservative argument is always that it's a step toward socialized health care. Whether you believe that's good, or bad, it's always handy to have some solid information to back up what you believe.  Here's a great bit of information, worth filing away in your mind, for the next discussion/argument you have along those lines.
