The big debate over ethanol continues to fascinate me. I was a young reporter in corn-rich Iowa, during the first ethanol boom, back in the gas-shortage days of the 1980's. We're back at it again, pushing ethanol as a supplement/alternative to gasoline. I'm STILL not convinced that the numbers work out in our favor, neither in the effectiveness of ethanol as a fule nor in it's impact on family farms.
