Making It Fair Again
There is great debate about any push to reinstate the broadcast "Fairness Doctrine". The law existed for decades, designed to push radio and TV stations into offering both sides of a political debate. It was a difficult law to enforce and made like rough for broadcasters, particularly those with smaller staffs. However (and this is why I'm torn on the issue) it did mandate that both sides would be heard. We have, in recent years, lost much of that with the explosion of corporate ownership of many, many, stations - often pushing nothing but a conservative point of view, effectively shutting out the more progressive thoughts. If you care to get up to speed, Len Hart has a detailed post about the problems and some great comments from his readers.

Huffington Post
I have a new piece that just went up in the Media area of Huffington Post. Topic this time?
The Future of Low Power TV
I'm surprisingly optimistic this time, thanks to our wonderful economy. And I just might encourage you to do a little channel surfing with a pair of rabbit ears. Just like the "good old days" - BC (before cable)
