Can They Tap-Dance Their Way Out Of This Mess?

Another day, another version of the McCain cell phone story. The phone guys are trying to back out of a big problem, but it's looking like they might be backing into a corner.

Somebody at these big telcoms really should have thought these little deals through.  Improper, if not transparently illegal, I'd say:
