Slow To The Table

Our home point of  Arkansas has been slow to join the states offering legalized casino gambling.  True, it's just a short drive across the border into any of the neighboring states to take advantage of it, but that means Arkansans' money is go there, not staying here.  Still, there are strong moral arguments against gambling, just as there are against liquor and drugs.  On the other hand, our buddy Roby Brock makes a point here.....


ELECTRONIC GAMES OF SKILL ARE PAYING OFF



Six full months into it, electronic games of skill are literally paying off, generating millions of dollars in revenues at Arkansas’ two race tracks, Oaklawn and Southland. Could the dollar amounts renew a debate for casino gambling in Arkansas? The Hot Springs and West Memphis race tracks both added the electronic games during the month of November last year after regulations were installed to implement voter-approved measures in the two communities.
